Boy

Hi, who is that boy with two long lines of white hair? | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 15:55, 28 April 2012 (EDT)

Which boy? ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 15:57, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
I said. In fact, here's a picture: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P41nXuzD8aI&feature=fvwrel&t=1m3s. | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 16:02, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
Oh, that's either Gavin with white hair or some unnamed kid. ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 16:05, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
I'm sure you edited two pages removing their similarity. Or maybe it was Nick... By the way, do you know any Wikisimpsons article milestones. | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 16:08, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
Should be some on Wikisimpsons. Also, I did create the 9000th article, but can't remember what it was. Also, I don't remember removing a similarity thing. ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 16:10, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
I know you did 9,000. It's going to be one of the pages around the bottom of here and top of here. | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 16:16, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
Ohkay, you got it. Thanks. | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 16:17, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
Hey, Randomno, are you talking about these kids: Dakota, and Kyle? The reason I took off the similarity thing, is because they don't look very much alike. Kyle looks a lot more like Kevin, than he does Dakota. --Nick97 (talk ~ contribs) 00:36, 29 April 2012 (EDT)
Yes, I was. But how can Dakota be ginger and blond? | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 05:01, 29 April 2012 (EDT)
It would appear that in the episode there were two boys named Dakota, but AleWi only made one page. :\ It's the same with Ashley. --Nick97 (talk ~ contribs) 10:49, 29 April 2012 (EDT)

Images

Well done for doing a bit more, just remember things like Category:Images - Characters and Category:Images - Locations. | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 06:17, 29 April 2012 (EDT)

And they should be in alphabetical order. | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 06:17, 29 April 2012 (EDT)
By alphabetical order, I mean types of things, like Category:Images - Characters and Category:Images - Locations, go first in alphabetical order, then the names of animals and characters. For example:

Category:Images - Animals
Category:Images - Characters
Category:Images - Vehicles
Category:Images - Homer
Category:Images - Santa's Little Helper
Category:Images - Snake

Antarctica

The ship left them on Antarctica because that's where the ship was originally going to get away from the virus. Meeting

Before you barrage me with a message, I won't be online till about 9:30.--Cook879 14:57, 5 May 2012 (EDT)

Comics pages images

Hi, I read through the transcript of Saturday's meeting, and I wanted to let you know that you stated my position on comic images perfectly: I look for one that best sums up the story, which isn't necessarily an image that has the title in it. Images that include the titles of comic stories tend to be either oversized (like the full-page splash for Fallen Flanders) or odd-shaped and as a result tend to not look that good in an infobox. The Fallen Flanders image is the exception that proves the rule: It's big, but the characters are big enough in proportion to the image that it still looks good at 250px, and it's the right shape for the infobox. Also, the Plot for that story will easily be long enough that the image won't end up dwarfing the rest of the page as it does now. Anyway, that's my $.02 worth, but you already said it. Cheers! -- Mythigator 15:37, 7 May 2012 (EDT)

JPGs

Please stop uploading JPGs... | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 11:55, 8 May 2012 (EDT)

The images are either from BabySimpson.co.uk or SpringfieldSpringfield.co.uk. ~ Phinbart (talkcontribs) 11:56, 8 May 2012 (EDT)
I know that. But you can still change them in paint programs. | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 11:58, 8 May 2012 (EDT)
Clarification, Randomno, if you please: Is it the JPEG graphic file format itself you're objecting to, or having the file extension in all caps? For example, "Randomno's Complaint.JPG"? -- Mythigator 08:30, 11 May 2012 (EDT)
No, just the file type. I know you upload JPGs too, but they come out all grainy when put in a smaller size. They're not terrible, but when you do large JPGs they're often not that good. | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 10:34, 11 May 2012 (EDT)
It's a trade-off of file size (and how fast web pages load) vs. image quality. In my experience with building web pages, JPEGs are the best happy medium. If image quality is of huge importance, then it's fine to burn some extra storage space on a PNG file, and just figure that if it's important enough, no one will quibble about the page taking longer to load. But most of our images here don't fit that category, so I tend to stick with JPEGs. My $.02 worth ... -- Mythigator 15:39, 11 May 2012 (EDT)
If you make JPGs small, they look bad. Sometimes, they are okay. But if you are doing a full-screen screenshot, they are terrible. And Phinbart, make the effort to change the file type in Paint. | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 14:46, 16 May 2012 (EDT)

Welcoming users

Use {{subst:Welcome|page they edited, if any}} when welcoming users, and {{subst:Welcomeanon|page they edited|your username}} when welcoming IPs. It's really not that hard! | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 08:19, 19 May 2012 (EDT)

And you felt it necessary to call him an idiot when you changed the welcome message on the IP's talk page? I don't give a rip who understands what about what's a joke and what isn't; that is both out of line and disrespectful! Now knock it off! -- Mythigator 08:25, 19 May 2012 (EDT)
:| That's all I can say. He has done this three times now, though. | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 08:48, 19 May 2012 (EDT)
Okay, listen, if Phinbart had done it once, I would have been quite okay. But, as he has done it three times now, I'm getting very annoyed. | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 08:54, 19 May 2012 (EDT)
A person's making mistakes (even repeatedly) is NOT grounds for calling them names or being disrepectful. And since you did it on an IP's talk page, now you're in the position of having given a potential new user the impression that trash-talking each other is how we operate around here. Your words have an impact on people other than those to whom you're speaking, see? As you've been asked before (more than once, I might add), THINK BEFORE YOU POST!! (Yes, I was yelling, but I'm done now.) -- Mythigator 08:58, 19 May 2012 (EDT)
I did think it might give an unuual impression to the IP. Anyway, I think we should let Phinbart speak before we take this any further. | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 09:23, 19 May 2012 (EDT)
There's no need to take it any further. You've been warned twice now about the need to be more civil in what you post. That still holds regardless of whether Phinbart takes any offense at your calling him an idiot. If you don't clean up your act, consequences are likely to follow. -- Mythigator 10:57, 19 May 2012 (EDT)
I had a think about this and I suppose I shouldn't have called him an idiot. When I get annoyed like that I don't really think about what I'm doing. Sorry Phinbart. | SimpsonsFR.pngSimpsonsFA.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFD.pngSimpsonsFO.pngSimpsonsFM.pngSimpsonsFN.pngSimpsonsFO.png | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 06:21, 20 May 2012 (EDT)

Existing articles

Hey man, you should really check for existing articles beforehand. Check the appearances, and then type the first few letters into search and see what it gives. Should hopefully avoid all the duplicates. Nice work though.--Cook879 10:59, 19 May 2012 (EDT)
