Forum:Demoting TheHomer
Now, I hate to be the one to being this up, but TheHomer has been inactive for close to 4 months now. As much as he's a valued member of the community, at the end of the day, it is 4 months. So what do you guys think about demoting him? --Will (talk) 06:22, 28 November 2011 (EST)
- We DO NOT demote admins because they are inactive. End of discussion. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.)☆ 12:22, 28 November 2011 (EST)
- Hold on, I think Will k has a point, he has been inactive for quite a long time. But so has Ldude893 and he's still rollback. As Will k says and everyone agrees, TheHomer is a valued member of the Wikisimpsons community, but it has been a long time. I believe we should actually hear from TheHomer and keep the discussion going, it's the best way to gain consensus. At the moment I'm Neutral. Doh5678 talk 14:37, 28 November 2011 (EST)
- Ldude is not a rollback as he hasn't made an account here yet. Should he make an account here and request his powers back, he will regain them. I do not like the idea of removing an admin's powers because they're inactive. it goes against EVERY bone in my body. It is wrong. Therefore, if the community does decide to remove his powers, it will have to be down to Cook or Smiley to do as I will not do so. An admin should have his powers as if he does return, he could carry on from where he left off. I am 150% OPPOSED to this and will not have anything else to do with this conversation. - Opposed unless 1) You contact TH AND preferably also 2) He either agrees to the demotion or becomes active again within a reasonable time frame, which can be decided when contact with him is re-established. If TH doesn't become active again (in spite of being contacted), then a demotion would be reasonable. -- Mythigator 15:24, 28 November 2011 (EST)
- Opposed Demoting him just for being inactive doesn't seem right, as there are a lot of inactive admins and rollbacks that have been so for much longer than that, and would get their powers back if they haven't created an account on our independent wiki yet. In one of the few occassions I visit this wiki, I discover you want to demote me. I'm really mad!... Nah, just a joke, I could never be mad at you, guys. It's true, I've been inactive for a long time, and I don't think I will edit this wiki anymore, so, if it's your desicion, demote me, there's no problem. It's a bit useless having admin powers and not using them. And it makes room for more admins, I don't know if there's any kind of admin limit or something, though. Anyway, it's alright. By the way, great skin! You did an awesome job to this wiki, guys. --TheHomer 20:08, 28 November 2011 (EST)
- My point, TheHomer, I mean, we love you as an editor, and I'm sure you're a great friend (unfortunately I wouldn't know), but having the rights just for the heck of it isn't much of a good reason. But now, seeing as you're formally asking to be demoted, I say do it. I don't mean to be rude or mean or any of the above, quite the opposite! Again, I apologize if I appear anything negative. :/ --Will (talk) 01:47, 29 November 2011 (EST)
And well miss you, TH. :( --Will (talk) 06:04, 29 November 2011 (EST)
