The Social Fretwork is a Simpsons Comics story first printed in Simpsons Comics #190.

Plot

Bart does a cool skateboard jump and Milhouse filmed it. Milhouse asks Bart for his password to FacePlace so he can upload the video. Because he doesn't want anyone to know his account's password, Bart asks Milhouse to send him the footage. The next day, Bart is popular because all the students have seen his skateboard jump on FacePlace. Meanwhile, Sideshow Bob has gained access to a computer with Internet accessibility in his prison. The first thing Bob tries is to figure out what Bart's FacePlace password is. At school, Bart throw a pie in Principal Skinner's and he publishes a video of him doing that on FacePlace. Later on, Bart attempts to enter his FacePlace account to read the comments of the video, but it will not let him enter the account, saying that he has entered the wrong password. The next day, Bart is hated by almost everyone on the school bus, including Milhouse. The only students who seem not to hate him are the nerds. Milhouse tells Bart why he hates him, and so do everyone else on the school bus. The nerds, however, say why they LIKE him. The reason for everyone hating him is because of a post he wrote on FacePlace. The students find out that Bart did not write the post, and tell him that someone must have hacked his account. Bart doesn't understand how anyone could know his password, but Lisa tells Bart about how monkeys are able to write Shakespeare. And so, Bart lets Mr. Teeny try to figure out what the new password is, but he fails. Bart then logs into FacePlace using Milhouse's account, and finds out that "he" put up a mean picture of Marge. This makes Bart angry, and he talks to the school nerds to find out if they can find out who hacked his account.

The nerds say that they will attempt to find out who hacked the account if Bart promises to be their friend. Bart agrees, and the nerds manage to find out that Sideshow Bob in the Springfield State Prison has hacked the account, but not Bart's account's password. The nerds tell Bart that they have managed to enter the prison monitoring system so they can see when Bob enters the password, however, Bob's big hair hides the keyboard. Martin comes with an idea, and to do it, he asks Bart for $20 and some scented stationery. Martin then writes two love letters to two female prison guards, which says the are from Sideshow Bob. The two guards enter the prison room to date him, but they both end up making the other woman jealous. Sideshow Bob gets thrown out to the prison yard, where he begins to hunt the other guards. This is filmed by the surveillance cameras that the nerds have access to and along with Bart, they make a funny movie with Sideshow Bob in it and they publish it on FacePlace, making Bob stop his "FacePlace rape". Bart is happy everything is back to normal, except for one thing - the nerds want to continue to be his friends. Bart refuses, so the nerds happily hack Bart's FacePlace account and they write a post which confesses 'Bart's' love for nerds. Bart sees what the nerds have done with his FacePlace account and he realizes that he can handle Sideshow Bob, but not the nerds.
