Upon returning to Springfield Dr. Hibbert informs Abe that both his kidney's have exploded, he is going to need a kidney transplant or he will die. The second attempt to extract Homers kidney does not go well either, he runs out of the hospital, into the street and is crushed by a car. When he awakes he apologizes to the Family for not saving Abe's life, he is shocked to learn that while Dr. Hibbert was saving his life the kidney transplant was done against his will. Never fear, Homer is Re-assured that Bart has a kidney to spare for his father.
Grandpa goes out and a kidney blows for Homer's "We're makin' GREAT time!" and he runs away after he said he would to the transplant, leaving him to die, after deciding it over, he re-decides to do it, then RE-un-decides to. A car hits him and they take his kidney without noticing. Homer does a group hug while he's at the hospital. And he feels Bart's kidney. Wanting it later.
