The Saint Patrick's Day parade

Saint Patrick's Day is the feast day of Saint Patrick, patron saint of Ireland, held on March 17th. In the United States celebrating include wearing green and shamrocks, attending parades, as well as drinking Irish beer and Irish whiskey.

History

During the Saint Patrick's Day parade one year, Bart accidentally becomes drunk, eventually leading to the outlaw of alcohol in Springfield.[1] Springfield tried to hold an alcohol-free Saint Patrick's Day on another occasion. However, without the alcohol, there was a street riot. Maggie and Gerald Samson fought on opposite sides (Ireland v Northern Ireland), although neither is Irish nor Catholic.[2]
