One Gigantic Mess! is a The Simpsons Summer Shindig comic story featured in The Simpsons Summer Shindig #9.

Plot

Springfield is attacked by a green monster. Weeks later, The Super-Brain Squad has an idea how to stop the monster. They believe that the creature hails from another dimension and something must have opened a wormhole in Springfield. They have created a weapon systems that can defeat any foe. The weapon, a robot called Glavinger Z, can only be operated by two people with a high level of compatibility and it turns out that Bart and Lisa are the best candidates.

Bart and Lisa both feel that it is a bad idea but they are convinced to save Springfield. They start using the robot against the monster, but it does not work because they are arguing. Professor Frink reminds them that they must cooperate in order to save the world. Homer starts yelling at them for not doing what Frink says and embarrassing him. Bart and Lisa both start recalling the times HE embarrassed THEM, which causes the robot to start working. They attack with a missile that hits the monster, which explodes and turns into Comic Book Guy. He tells that the last he remembers is reading La Puerta Del Diablo.

Señor Ding-Dong reads the comic and tells them it says whoever read it aloud with evil in his heart shall awaken the demon Goth-Amogg. Bart and Lisa say that they have learned a valuable lesson today, and both argue about what they learned. Homer tells them that the real lesson is that a dad's disinterest is truly the greatest motivator of all, and heads to Moe's.
