Poolin' Around is a The Simpsons Summer Shindig comic story featured in The Simpsons Summer Shindig #8.
Synopsis
Due to the city's budget cuts, Homer and the Simpsons clan are recruited as the lifeguards at the municipal pool.

Homer jumps off the diving board at
Springfield Community Pool and wetting down
Mayor Quimby and his checks when he makes a speech there. When Quimby understand there was Homer who ruined his checks, he decides to punish
Springfield by canceling the budget for the pool which upsets the other inhabitants.
Lisa has an idea that the family should take care of the pool during the summer. Homer and Marge become bodyguard and the fun. Homer decides that the pool should have sand for the right beach feeling, which attracts cats. Residents are starting to come to the pool and start swimming. Marge rescues
Jimbo from drowning in poolen meanwhile Homer tries out his new amphibian wheelchair. The kids in Springfield are on an inflatable lilo when a cat jumps on and destroy it and it's starting to sink. Homer drives with his wheelchair into the water to save them, he drowns but he floats up and the children are rescued by Homer's fat body. The family hires then real lifeguards because Homer has received money towards that he promised the manufactured of the wheel chair that he will not tell anyone at he use their products.
