A Brand New Smithers is a Simpsons Comics story that appears in Simpsons Comics #205.
Synopsis
- "Waylon Smithers, Mr. Burns' long-suffering, lovestruck sycophant, is about to turn the tables on his longtime companion and employer with a brand new "take-charge" attitude. Oh, did we forget to mention... he gets struck by lightning!"
Plot

Burns has become a pauper and lost everything in his mansion when Smithers visits him later. Smithers sees Burns misses his old life and decides to do something about it. Next day decides Smithers give Homer the job of chief operations officer of the plant and a cat replaced his old job. Homer enjoying his promotional, and participates extensively in the media where he embarrass the company. This get the shares to plummet and Amadopolis sells his shares. Smithers dismisses Homer from his work and visit Burns to tell what he had done. When Smithers is visiting Burns is everything as it was before, Burns says he pretended the last time Smithers visited him, he knew he would get Smithers to give him the opportunity to buy the company. Smithers is happy that Burns was back. The next day, it turns out that the power plant is populated by cats and Smithers think it was the cat that flourished though it really is Homer and Bart who took there the other cats. Smithers ensures that the cats disappear at the behest of Burns and re-hires Homer.
