Cultural references
- The man sitting in front of Homer is reading a copy of Forbes magazine.
- The boy sitting next to the man appears to be playing a Game Boy.
- The woman sitting next to the boy appears to be reading the mystery novel "P" Is for Peril.
- In a reference to The Twilight Zone episode "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet", Bart scares Krusty with a sticker attached to the window of the plane which depicts a monster on the wing.
- When he tries the same trick with Comic Book Guy, he says to Bart that the sticker "wouldn't even fool John Lithgow in Twilight Zone: The Movie let alone one Mr. William Shatner in the far superior, original television episode".
