The letter asking about whether Krusty is real is a reference to Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus, a letter from 1897 by a eight year old girl who begins to doubt Santa's existence.

  • The writer of the letter to Krusty is Virginia O'Hanrahan, the original was written by Virginia O'Hanlon
  • The letter to Krusty uses the following lines from the original:
    • I am eight years old
    • Some of my little friends say their is no (Santa Claus/Krusty the Clown)
