It was produced by Channel 6 to fulfill the FCC's requirement for educational programming, and to make room for the show 20 minutes of the Krusty the Clown Show was trimmed. Kids News was quickly cancelled and replaced with The Mattel and Mars Bar Quick Energy Chocobot Hour.
