The League of Extra-Horny Gentlemen is a gay nightclub in Springfield. It is located across the street from Moe's Tavern.
History
The League of Extra-Horny Gentlemen operates much like an exclusive discothèque, with admission being controlled by a doorman with a velvet rope.
Once, when Moe closed his bar, Moe told his patrons to go get beer from the gay bar across the street, and pointed to The League of Extra-Horny Gentlemen.[1]
Waylon Smithers tried to go in after a tough day at work. The doorman, however, after admitting several good-looking and fashionably-dressed men, turned Smithers away, telling him that his look was more suited for a John F. Kennedy cabinet meeting than it was for a nightclub.
Disheartened, Smithers went across the street to Moe's. As Moe served him a drink, he lamented, "If only this town had a men's bar for the average-looking fellow." This gave him the idea to suggest that Moe make over his bar into an "average-gay" friendly establishment. After Moe saw the money-making potential of the idea, he agreed.
