Edgar Neubauer is a deceased man, buried at the Springfield Cemetery. His gravestone reads "Beloved Husband and Old Grouch." He lived from 1831 – 1909.
Neubauer was Waylon Smithers's clue for Bart and Lisa Simpson to helping them solve Sideshow Bob's landslide victory in the Springfield mayoral election. Lisa couldn't believe that Bob, a convicted felon, would get more votes than another, incumbent mayor Diamond Joe Quimby. They eventually learned that Mayor Terwilliger had stuffed his ballot with "votes" cast from deceased people and animals, buried at the Springfield Cemetery and Pet Cemetery respectively.
