Orville J. Simpson, or Great Grampa Simpson, is Homer's grandfather from "The Old Country", which appears to be Northern England or Scotland. Orville married Yuma Hickman in the early 1900's. Shortly after WW1. For a few years, they lived inside the statue of liberty, until the head was filled with too much garbage. He was seen in Heaven by Bart in Bart Gets Hit by a Car, strangling young Abe, hinting the habit is a family trait. He is then seen in Much Apu About Nothing, when Grampa tells the family of his arrival in the U.S. According to the The Simpsons Uncensored Family Album he is the only son of 'Old-Tut' Simpson and "Happy" Dinsdale.
