The Principal of Springfield Elementary School is the person in charge of running the facility, which is attended by many of Springfield's children, including Bart and Lisa Simpson. The incumbent is Seymour Skinner.

Past principals[edit]

Seymour Skinner[edit]

Despite being the current principal, Skinner has been replaced several times.

Homer Simpson[edit]

Homer briefly became principal of the school after what was believed to be the School Board visited, and shocked at the state of the school, they fired Superintendent Chalmers for failing to keep it in school. They promoted Skinner to Superintendent for keeping himself clean and "being good to mother".

They interviewed candidates for the position of principal. Failing to find a good candidate through interviews, they settled for the first person to enter the room. That was Snake, stealing overhead projectors, so they settled for the second person, Homer.

During his tenure in the job, Homer ate all the cafeteria's specials (often getting through multiple days in one go). He gave extra credit for being quiet and cake-baking. To improve the school, he installed water slides for quick travel (and to wash away rodents and Scotsmen) and got a substitute teacher, Mr. Kongo, who was a mountain gorilla, with the lesson written on his diaper. He also introduced the Junior Underachiever programme. This led to grades and attendance going up. However, it turned out the "school board" were infact just some people who had stole the bus, coming from Springfield Retirement Castle. As a result, both Skinner and Chalmers got their original jobs back.[1]
