Fright Before Christmas is a Simpsons Winter Wingding story first printed in Simpsons Winter Wingding #10.
Plot
Kang and Kodos are headed to Earth before Rigel VII's annual interplanetary festival. They are there to film Earth's similar festival called Christmas. Kang and Kodos are surprised by the mission because they are only there during Halloween. Kang and Kodos are hoping they will visit some exotic place but they discover that it's just Springfield again. The inhabitants of Springfield have dressed up as Santa zombies after Bart wins a contest resulting in the Wassailing Dead Christmas special being filmed in Springfield. Kang and Kodos are scared by all the lights and escape, but they are discovered by a new group who tries to chase them away. The film crew decides to continue filming because there are good special effects. Kang and Kodos watch Homer strangle Bart, the Kwik-E-Mart selling old food and Barney spewing toxic waste. Kang and Kodos don't like what they see and decide to hide at Springfield Retirement Castle, where the old folks gratefully accept them and give them fruitcake, because they have so many. When Kang and Kodos return to Rigel VI, the Rigellians are satisfied with what they saw in the film, and they celebrate the mission with fruitcake. The film crew leaves Springfield while the residents of Springfield continues with the chaos; they aren't finished because they think the town is a dump anyway.
