Pieces of Homer is a Simpsons Comics story first printed in Simpsons Comics #153.
Plot[edit]
Homer and Bart fight over the remote control and break it, leaving the TV stuck on PBS during one of their fundraisers. Those who donate more than $100 will receive a painting, found in the collection of a deceased painter, of a unnamed mystery man, who closely resembles Homer. More alarmingly many are nude portraits. Marge asks why Homer made them, but he says he did not. The rumor that Homer has posed for nude paintings starts to spread around Springfield, and soon the media begin to monitor the family's house to try and get an interview with Homer. Since the identity of the mysterious man has been found, the paintings are to be put on auction the following day.
It is time for the auction, and all of Springfield (including Marge and Homer) are there to see who want's to buy the paintings. The first painting is sold for $100,000 via phone bidding. All the paintings end up going to the same person, totalling to $5,000,000. Because the same person brought all the paintings, Marge decides to follow the paintings en-route to the buyer. The buyer turns out to be Lurleen Lumpkin. She tells them she asked the painter to do the drawings but he died before she got them, and was therefore forced to buy them all. Lurleen asks if Homer is interested in her but he says he is just in love with Marge. Lurleen gives Homer a note that Marge immediately destroys when they leave her. The note turned out to be a contract that gave Homer 10% of all her music earnings.
