- Homer's suggestion to "visualize another America. One where Republicans, Democrats, and Donald Trump all get along." is a reference to Trump's policy stances and how conservatives consider Trump.
- John Kasich's banner and him punching Ted Cruz in the face is a reference to the reports of him being grumpy and cantankerous in person.
- Ted Cruz and Hillary Clinton's act is a reference to Cruz's depiction of being trustworthy and people criticizing him for being liar.
- Jeb Bush throwing off his glass is a reference to the vow he made to never take off his "stinking glasses", and then in January ditching them.
- Jeb kicking Trump in the family jewels is a reference to Barbara Bush advising his son to go harder on Trump in the debates.
