Movie Information
|
Ernest Needs a Kidney is a comedy movie that was shown at the Aztec Theater in downtown Springfield.
History
Bart was pranking Mrs. Krabappel by responding to a personals ad that Mrs. Krabappel had placed. Bart created the alias "Woodrow" to use in the prank, carried out a chain of romantic correspondence with Mrs. Krabappel, and made a date for Woodrow to meet her for dinner at The Gilded Truffle. He had no intention of keeping the date, however, and while Mrs. Krabappel went to The Gilded Truffle to meet Woodrow, Bart went to the Aztec Theater to see Ernest Needs a Kidney.
Bart thoroughly enjoyed the movie, and was laughing uproariously when it ended and he came out of the theater. However, he instantly felt guilty and remorseful when he looked into a window at The Gilded Truffle and saw Mrs. Krabappel sitting alone at a table, on the verge of tears and still waiting in vain for Woodrow to show up. After that, Bart turned to his family for help to end the prank without hurting Mrs. Krabappel any further.
Behind the Laughter
