Cultural references
- Homer mentions Obamacare.
Continuity
- The short is very similar to the opening sequence of "Treehouse of Horror XIX" and reuses some footage from it. However, the speech is different and there is a different voting booth scene and ending.
Goofs
- Alice Glick is seen in the short, despite the fact she is dead in the episode "Replaceable You" from season 23.
