This run-down, shoddy campsite is where actor Ernest Borgnine and the Junior Campers were attacked and possibly killed by unseen creature leaping down from the trees. Homer speaks with the park ranger over the telephone to book a campsite, but nothing is available. Homer finally asks for the campsite where the guy in the hockey mask kills all the campers, but the ranger says that's a movie and hangs up where she is immediately attacks from behind by Jason.[2]
Behind the Laughter
The old, abandoned summer camp is a parodying the reoccurring setting of Friday the 13th horror movie franchise focused on the spree killings of Jason Voorhees. The music playing over the POV shots at the end is a soundalike to the Friday the 13th theme.
