Mr. Hoots is a owl that was living at the Springfield Bird Sanctuary.
When Lisa was volunteering at the Springfield Bird Sanctuary, she was looking after Mr. Hoots. Lisa found that Mr. Hoots has been injured six times before that time and wondered why. When the Bird Sanctuary closed down temporarily due to all the birds flying away, Lisa temporarily adopted Mr. Hoots to stop Cletus from taking and eating him. Lisa quickly found that Mr. Hoots was a menace. He turned her homework into a nest and then tried to carry Snowball II off.
