COPS: In Springfield is an American documentary/reality television series that follows police officers, constables, and sheriffs in Springfield.
History[edit]
Homer saw an episode of COPS: In Springfield in bed. In the police chased Snake. This gag is used later in the same episode where Chief Wiggum and his colleagues are at the same hospital Homer goes to get his heart attack treated. In said instance, Wiggum had his mouth locked open from trying to eat a jumbo-sized sandwich. Lou demonstrated that he could fit his whole fist in Wiggum's mouth, much to chief's chagrin, as the theme queued to play once more. The latter scene was cut from later versions.
Behind the Laughter[edit]
- COPS: In Springfield is a spoof of Fox (later Spike)'s long-running ongoing reality legal program and documentary show Cops which had been running since March 11, 1989. Just nine months prior to the first episode of the series.
