Skinner discovers that [[Bart]] has made a humor magazine and is distributing it to his classmates. He does not like them, so he confiscates them. Krusty hears from a spy in the school about Bart's magazine, and he realizes that kids like magazines now, so he lets Bart produce a humor magazine for him, called ''{{ap|D'oh!|magazine}}''. Krusty decides that [[Homer]] should be on every cover, since he's perfect for the role. Krusty tells Bart that his first task is to write a parody of a Wolfcastle movie that is being filmed. Bart sneaks onto the set and finds a script to make his work easier. When the first magazine is ready, Bart discovers that he will not get paid or have other writers to work with. At the same time, Homer begins to feel ashamed that he is on the cover of the magazine, and it does not get any better when he learns that he cannot say "D'oh!" anymore without paying Krusty. Lisa discovers that Bart is not doing well and he works a lot, so she starts to help him with the newspaper. The Rise and Fall of D'oh! is a Simpsons Comics story first printed in Simpsons Comics #203.

Synopsis[edit]

"When Bart creates a successful humor magazine for his classmates, Krusty the Clown coopts the idea, turning it into a satirical monthly serial of his own and hiring Bart as the head writer. It's just a matter of time before Krusty finds the perfect cover spokesman for the new periodical, and 'D'oh!' Magazine is born! Subscribe to this fancy flipbook issue, featuring a 'zine within a zine' edition of 'D'oh!'"
