History[edit]

The Post merged with the Springfield Times, The Globe, the Herald, the Jewish News and Hot Sex Weekly to become the Springfield Shopper.

The Springfield Shopper Building has the older defunct newspapers framed on the wall including the front page of The Post on "V-E Day" when Nazi Germany signed an unconditional surrender in 1945.
