Bart's parents refuse, but Bar ignores them and gets a tattoo saying Moth (it was meant to say Mother, but was incomplete). Because of this, the Simpsons need to get expensive laser surgery to remove the tattoo, which uses all of Marge's Xmas money.

Homer loses it all on the dog track, betting on a hopeless dog called [[Santa's Little Helper]]. Bart and Homer manage to save christmas by adopting the first Simpson dog.
