Death in Venice is a novel written by Thomas Mann.
History[edit]
While Waylon Smithers, Jr. was a supply teacher at Springfield Elementary School, he got spitballed by the class. After no one told him who did it, he told the class that he will not be reading Death in Venice to them, which disappointed the class.
When Smithers along with other Springfieldians came to the rescue of Mr. Burns and Homer, he threw Death in Venice at one of the robots, which then seemed to fall in love with the book.
