Burnsie on Board is a Simpsons Comics story first printed in Simpsons Comics #34.

Plot[edit]

During the Winter season, Mr. Burns reminisces about his youth when he trained to take part in the Olympic sport of Flying Disc Skeet Shooting, an activity which combined snowboarding and shooting targets. However, when the Olympics finally arrived, his sudden fear of competition caused him to botch his performance, resulting in his disqualification.

Burns decides to bring the Olympics to Springfield to help him overcome his fear. However, when the Olympics refuses to come, he sets up his own tournament, C. Montgomery Burns International Games, which actually only includes Springfield and neighboring towns. Burns kidnaps Bart and threatens to fire Homer if Bart doesn't agree to be on his snowboarding team. Through rigorous training, Bart becomes fiercely competitive.

When the competition arrives, Bart is up against Larry Newell from Shelbyville. Before the race starts, Larry unscrews the binding on Bart's snowboard, causing him to fall off the board halfway through the race. Mr. Burns takes over from Bart and wins the race. However, he is disappointed with his prize of a million dollars and immediately loses interest in his Olympic spirit.
