Naming of articles is important on Wikisimpsons. The name has to make sense and be within the guidelines.
Rules[edit]
- Titles in names are only used if the character's first name is unknown. i.e. Dr. Hibbert's article is Julius Hibbert while Zweig's article is under Dr. Zweig.
- If more than one character shares the same name, the episode the characters appear in should be put in brackets/parentheses in the name. i.e. Inga (The Good, the Sad, and the Drugly) and Inga (Coming to Homerica). If one of the characters in question appears in multiple episodes, a distinguishing feature about them is used instead of the episode name, i.e. Erin (soldier).
- If a guest star voices themselves, the guest star article is kept under their name as in the credits of the show and the character is placed with (character) at the end. i.e. Leonard Nimoy and Leonard Nimoy (character).
- For articles with (character) or (episode name) or (distinguishing feature), you can use the template {{Title}} i.e. for Leonard Nimoy (character), putting {{Title|Leonard Nimoy}} will remove the (character) bit.
- Conjectural titles are used if no other name is known. If this happens the {{Conjecture}} template is used at the top of the article. Conjectural titles should only have the first letter of the first word capitalized unless there is part of a name in there too.
- Constantly recurring characters, animals, locations, and anything else like Homer, Bart and others should have no distinguishing feature in parenthesis after their name. One time things like Homer Simpson (tiger) and Bart (The Best Radioactive Man Event Ever! Part 3) should be distinguished.
- If a character is an adult, or is known to have a spouse (husband/wife), but is also known to have a parent, the spouse should be put as "Character's husband/wife", and put "Character's mother/father".
