Homer was conceived when Grampa told him he used a copy of In Cold Blood as a replace the missing leg of a sofa.[1]
When the Simpsons visited The Old Springfield Book Nook, Homer handed Maggie a copy of In Cold Blood which Maggie then started to look through until Marge took it off her.[2]
