The Snowed Inn is a hotel which is about 600 miles away from Springfield. The Simpsons go there on a ski trip and Homer leaves early to get away from the traffic, but when they go on the main road, they find a lot of traffic.
Behind the Laughter
The name of the hotel is a pun on the term "snowed in", meaning being unable to get out of a building due to a build up of snow by the exits.
