Stephen King (born September 21, 1947) is an American author who primarily writes horror novels and short stories. Among his most famous works are The Shining, Carrie and The Stand.

King appeared as himself in the episode "Insane Clown Poppy", signing autographs at the book convention. His works have also been referenced several times on The Simpsons:

King also plays in the band the Rock Bottom Remainders. Among the other members are Matt Groening, Mitch Albom and Amy Tan.[2]
