History

When Joseph and a very pregnant Mary checked in, the innkeeper boasted of his establishment's amenities, including rooms with brand-new carpeting. When Mary's water broke, however, the innkeeper forced them to stay in the barn, where Mary successfully gave birth to the baby.

When the other customers complained about the noise from the baby, the innkeeper told Herod and his troops where they could find him. The troops searched in the barn, but Mary and Joseph had already left.
