Radio Show Information

The War of the Worlds is a science fiction radio drama, narrated by Orson Welles. It is based on the book by H. G. Wells.
History
Orson Welles narrated The War of the Worlds on KBBL as a prank to give the listeners a laugh. However, the people of Springfield believed it to be a real news story and started panicking and rioting. Eventually, Marge came up with the idea to pretend to be animals as the aliens were only killing humans. The people of Springfield stripped naked and wallowed in mud. The next day, Lisa informed the townspeople that it was all a prank. Kang and Kodos then used this moment to invade Springfield, with the townspeople not believing that the threat was real. Welles arrived in Springfield and tried to get Chief Wiggum to call the military to report the invasion, but Wiggum didn't listen to him. Eventually, it was too late to do anything about the invasion.
