Synopsis[edit]
- "Ned Flanders believes he has missed "The Rapture" until he discovers that everyone who has been left behind is left-handed!"
Plot[edit]
Ned thinks that Rod and Todd have been raptured, but it turns out that they have only put out their pajamas for the evening. When he discovers that they have actually been raptured, Ned wonders why he was not raptured, because he is a good person. He soon discovers that those who are left in Springfield are left-handed. Everyone in town decides that Ned will become the new leader, except Mr. Burns. Mr. Burns gets revenge by unleashing a number of monsters that his nuclear power plant has created. Professor Frink tries to make the left-handed people right-handed by using monkeys, but he makes the monkeys intelligent and they revolt. Krusty tries to create his own religion, Krustatian, after Rev. Lovejoy is gone. There is chaos in Springfield but Ned manages to stop them all.
Frink succeeds in making the formula, but only for one person. Mr. Burns tries to steal the formula but Ned stops him and happens to get the formula on him, which makes him right-handed. Ned gets raptured but it turns out that Kang & Kodos have kidnapped all the right-handed people to work in their space sweat-shop. They force them to make T-shirt for space tourists. It turns out that they just took the right-handed people because their machines are right-handed. Ned does not like their slavery, but then he finds out that everyone is happy with the job because it is only four days of work, and only two hours a day and they have a three-month paid vacation. Ned changes his mind about the slavery, and persuades Kang and Kodos to send shirts as a goodbye message to those will remain on Earth.
