The Health Department is a government agency responsible for inspecting and enforcing public health and safety standards in food establishments.

According to the Krusty Burger Employees Manual, Health Department officials were expected to be greeted in a highly unusual manner upon arriving at any Krusty Burger location. The manual instructed staff to immediately offer them a "Krusty Burger Supreme," described as $500 placed between two sesame seed buns, as part of an effort to “make friends” with inspectors during their visits.[1]
