Other awards[edit]

Maybe we could have more awards --Zhen lin 22:52, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

When other projects are made, then we can have more awards related to them.--Sgtcook (My Talk Page) 22:56, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
We could have an award for the person who makes the most edits in one month--Smiley12 was here at 22:59, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
How do you find out who made the most edits?--Zhen lin 23:03, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

Either use their contributions page and count how many they have had or write the edit count before and after the month and workout the amount in between.--Sgtcook (My Talk Page) 23:05, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

A new Rule[edit]

Admins can not be nominated. They can and should nominate other users but they can not be nominated themselves. Shouldn't be about edit count. Should be about overall help to the wiki. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk)☆ 21:14, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

After having a nomination for myself, I want to make this official. Anyone got any opposition to this? if not, I will add it to the page. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk)☆ 16:31, May 10, 2010 (UTC)

New Way of Voting[edit]

OK, Alexandersig has a good point here. How about it then? A user or a few users, maybe all who have been active that month until that day, are listed and voted upon. Nominations until a certain date and then a poll, that can not be changed, is used until the end of the month. A good day to stop would be 20th of each month. Then, voting begins. How about it? ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk)☆ 20:26, May 11, 2010 (UTC)

If no one responds, I will implement it next month any way. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk)☆ 07:30, May 13, 2010 (UTC)

Voting[edit]

It says you can only have one vote, but if someone was to vote, then log out and vote, they would get two votes and nobody would know. --Smiley12 was here at 02:02, June 20, 2010 (UTC)

That would count as sockpuppeting which is against Wikia policy. If someone was to do that, they could be blocked if found out. ☆The Solar Dragon 07:59, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

New Awards[edit]

I was thinking, how about some new awards. I have put a lot of thought into this:

  • Golden Marge - User who has cleaned up a lot of pages and done a lot of these repetitive tasks.
  • Golden Lisa - User who has made the best singular edit.
  • Golden Maggie - Best newcomer.
  • Golden Bart - (only thought up of today) One leading on points at the end of the month.

What do you think? ☆The Solar Dragon 07:59, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

Yep, not sure what you mean by Golden Lisa, the rest seem pretty good (I like how they match the characters). --Smiley12 was here at 08:04, July 16, 2010 (UTC)
I mean, like making one massive edit to a page, one very constructive edit which is so good, it deserves an award. ☆The Solar Dragon 08:19, July 16, 2010 (UTC)
I've made the golden Bart... Starts next month... --Smiley12 was here at 06:32, July 17, 2010 (UTC)

November Golden Homer Award[edit]

Shouldn't we start voting for November? Or December already? Also, can't we give the award as a gift with the social tools we got now? I can't send any gifts, since every time I try to do so, it says "I took an invalid link". — TheHomer (TalkContributions) 19:27, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

We should leave it til December with all the stuff that has been going on this month. So, you can't give gifts... May be a bug. Or maybe only I can do so. I don't quite know... ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 19:31, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Gifts? How do they work? Sounds spiffingly good Mr. Blackadder 22:15, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Special:GiftManager. Special:GiveGift. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 22:16, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

OK, I have decided that I will choose the three people who deserve the award. These will be the non-admins who have put the most effort into the wiki since it has moved. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 08:08, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Gift[edit]

Giving the award as a gift would be an easy way. If you agrees on this, we create three awards called "The golden/silver/bronze Homer award" with the description "For your great work on this wiki" (or something similar), with the golden Homer picture. Instead of editing the winner's talk page, one could simply give the gift (only problem is that some inexpert user could give the award to any user when he wants to). This cannot be done through Special:SystemGiftManager, because they're given automatically and there's no way to make the system give the award when the user wins it. Anyway, what do you think? — TheHomer (TalkContributions) 21:38, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

I think it is too easy to exploit. I think any user can send gifts. The old system should be kept until we know how secure this can be. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 22:02, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
OK. You're right. As I said, any user can send the gift to anyone thinking it's a normal gift. — TheHomer (TalkContributions) 22:16, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
