The Simpsons Stamps were released in the USA on May 7, 2009 (unveiled on April 9) and was on sale to the 2010. A stamp had a value of ₵44 and a set of twenty stamps cost $8.80. The set was released with four different covers. The cover was a picture of Homer, Bart, Lisa or Marge with Maggie. Every set included stamps with the five characters, Homer, Bart, Lisa, Marge or Maggie. 1 billion of the stamps were produced but only 318 million were sold which, meant the USPS lost $1.2 million from the stamps.
