Isn't it just the same character[edit]
I know VIII and the other VII, but isn't it just a simple error in the production rather then a separate character even though no mention that they are father and son (who look like they are the same age). 24.141.5.202 02:17, November 25, 2013 (EST)

- All respect to whichever guide writer did that, that makes no sense. He is clearly the same character beyond an extra "I." He's voiced by the same guess star. Plenty of characters' names have changed, doesn't make them two characters. 24.141.5.202 20:16, November 26, 2013 (EST)
- They have also mentioned this in the DVD commentary. They have never confirmed at VII is death. I guess it was a mistake from the first place but they has used both name. Both can be alive, it should be possible, they have different work titles. /AleWi (talk) 00:06, November 27, 2013 (EST)
- Continuing on from that bit I quoted above: "Although they look identical and are both voiced by Stacey Keach, H.K. Duff VII has a distinctive southern drawl and wears western clothes and a bolo tie. Perhaps this is why Lisa goes to great lengths to refer to him "Mr. Duff the seventh".
- With the amount of contributing writers, artists, editors and everyone else I think it's fairly unlikely that such a huge slip-up would have gone completely unnoticed. If they never referred to Howard in the ep guide at all (or the commentary, apparently), then I would likely agree with you. However, they devote a fairly large chunk of space in the "Stuff You May Have Missed" section just to tell us that they're two different people. To add even more confusion in Take my Life Please, one of the wall of fame plaques is for Henry K. Duff (the original Duff owner) and the picture next to it is of either Howard K. Duff 7 or 8. Bleedinggumsmurphy1 (talk) 12:28, March 18, 2014 (EDT)
