It's only canonical if Trump is depicted in-universe (that is, in a canon episode) as being the President. To my knowledge, that hasn't happened yet. However, I am a bit behind with watching this season's episodes, so anyone who has information to the contrary feel free to correct me. Well, actually he's seen in The Cad and the Hat twitting. He was also "mentioned" by Homer in The Caper Chase when he said "americans have to stop electing evil billionaires to the highest office".
