"Remembrance of Things Slashed" is an episode of The Itchy & Scratchy Show. It was shown as part of the Itchy & Scratchy 48-Hour Diamond Jubilee Marathon, "celebrating 75 years of rib-tickling brutality and hilarious atrocity."

Plot

Itchy is reading the newspaper and is upset when he sees a headline that says, "Scratchy Dead! Peace After Long Illness". Scratchy comes back as a ghost to haunt Itchy. Itchy tries to stab Scratchy but the knife passes harmlessly through him. Scratchy's ghost laughs contemptuously at Itchy, but Itchy has an idea: He gets his vacuum cleaner and sucks Scratchy into it; then reverses the setting, blows Scratchy into the freezer, and closes the door. After Scratchy has frozen solid, Itchy chips his eyes out and uses them as ice cubes, then laughs and stirs his drink while the eyes blink in his glass.

• Itchy also uses a vacuum cleaner on Scratchy's ghost in "P.U.".
