Synopsis[edit]

"Mr. Burns turns into a holiday Scrooge, stiffing his staff on their Christmas bonuses -- that is, unless Homer's Simpsons staged sit-in has any chance of paying off."

Plot[edit]

Mr. Burns dresses up as an undercover employee for a TV show but is recognized by everyone except Homer, who starts talking in front of Burns and TV cameras about what he thinks of his workplace. Burns gets angry when he hears what Homer has to say, and after he finds out that everyone agrees with him, he decides to do something about the workplace so that they are happy about working at the power plant.

Burns changes the rules so the employees don't get coffee anymore, they must share their rooms and they have to pay to go to the bathroom, but the changes don't make the employees happier. Burns makes a trail of donuts leading to a core room where there's a whole box of donuts and Homer tries to eat them, but can't. Homer gets an outbreak and Burns is happy until he discovers that Homer got all the employees to go on strike.

Burns wants to lay off the employees, but Smithers stops him. Smithers tries to tell Burns how he can get the employees to be happy, but he misunderstands and it only gets worse until they get free pizza from "Pete Za". Burns is excited to make his employees happy with pizzas, and asks Smithers how much it will cost. It turns out to cost $54.29 plus tip, but Burns accepts it because he will still raise the price of the electricity for all employees and won't tip them.
