Synopsis[edit]
In Maggie's imagination, the park sandbox becomes an archaeological dig in Egypt.
Maggie and Marge are in Springfield Park. Marge puts Maggie into the sandbox with her shovel and bucket, then settles down on a nearby bench to read a book.
As Maggie digs in the sand, the scene shifts to her imagination: She is an archaeologist working on a dig in Egypt, and she uncovers an ornate sarcophagus in the sand. After she digs some more to reveal more of the sarcophagus, she smiles as she admires her discovery. Then, suddenly, a bandit appears behind her brandishing a machete. Maggie, thinking quickly, scoops up some sand in her shovel and throws it in the bandit's face. The bandit splutters and coughs and backs away, in the process dropping his machete.
The scene abruptly changes back to reality. Rather than a bandit, Maggie has thrown sand into the faces of another mother and her baby, whom she was about to put into the sandbox next to Maggie. Maggie is embarrassed when she sees what she's done, and Marge, mortified, quickly gets up from her bench and runs to the sanbox to resolve the situation.
