Location Information
Use: Birthplace of Edgar Allan Poe
First appearance: "Homer's Triple Bypass"

The Birthplace of Edgar Allan Poe is a house with the plaque noting Edgar Allan Poe was born there.

History[edit]

When Homer was stuck behind a truck transporting the birthplace of the writer Edgar Allan Poe, driven slowly by Hans Moleman, he became frustrated and started to ram into the house, which caught fire just as it fell off a cliff.

Behind the Laughter[edit]

Edgar Allan Poe's real birthplace was a Georgian-style brick townhouse in Boston, Massachusetts. The building and the area around it were demolished although Edgar Allan Poe Square is two blocks from where the building stood.
