The Simpson family buy a tree for Christmas however [[Lisa]] cannot identify its species. The tree reveals to her that it is actually an alien called [[Tahn-Enn-Bahm]] and is part of a race who plan on invading Earth and enslaving the human race. Lisa is unable to bring herself to destroy the tree because of her environmentalism and others refuse to believe her story. [[Homer]] accidentally kills Tahn-Enn-Bahm when he drops a bucket of water on a plug socket powering the Christmas lights. The tree aliens retreat in fear upon learning about Tahn-Enn-Bahm's death.
