Genre: Sitcom

Sheriff Wholesome is a classic sitcom. Its reruns are aired on Tube Town.

The original airdates of Sheriff Wholesome aren't known, but the fact that at least some of it was filmed in black-and-white makes it likely that it dates back to the 1950s or early 1960s. The show's plotline centers on the main character, a clean-cut and easy-going small-town sheriff.

Behind the Laughter

  • Sheriff Wholesome is a parody of The Andy Griffith Show.
  • The Andy Griffith Show ran for eight seasons and was filmed in black-and-white for the first five (1960-1965); therefore, it's likely that Sheriff Wholesome dates back to the same approximate time frame.
  • The Andy Griffith Show also starred Ron Howard as a child actor, credited as "Ronny Howard".
