Mel Gibson is an American actor, film director, producer and screenwriter. Gibson moved with his parents to Sydney when he was 12 years old and later studied acting at the Australian National Institute of Dramatic Art.

He guest starred in The Simpsons episode "Beyond Blunderdome" where he was helped by Homer to edit his remake of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

Mel Gibson was voted 19th in IGN's "Top 25 Simpsons Guest Appearances".
