Trivia

  • Homer's X-Ray clearly shows the crayon that reduces his intelligence first seen in HOMЯ.
  • At the end of the episode when Homer drinks some Duffs to power himself up and rescue Marge is a reference to Popeye cartoons, where Popeye rescues his love by powering himself up with spinach.
  • The name of this episode is a reference to the film Eyes Wide Shut.
  • There is a float on the gay parade called "Stayin' In The Closet" with a man and a woman peering out. It is heavily implied that they are Patty Bouvier and Waylon Smithers. While Patty confirmed she was a lesbian in season 16's episode "There's Something About Marrying", there has been no official confirmation that Smithers is homosexual (though a running gag heavily implies it).
  • When Homer is twirling Maggie around by her pacifier, the music playing is the music from the tornado scene in The Wizard of Oz.
