Donut Detectives is a Simpsons Comics story that appears in Simpsons Comics #230.
Synopsis
- "Marge is back in blue and back on the beat, when she teams up with Chief Wiggum to find out why all the donuts in Springfield have gone missing!"
Plot
Homer comes home and are depressed. Marge finds out that when he came to the work was the donuts missing which led him and his colleagues to miss the rush of sugar they need. Homer visited all the shops in the donut district but they were sold out everywhere. Marge are going to the police station to get help to find the cause, Homer falls asleep so Marge go the police by herself. It turns out that the entire police force except Chief Wiggum have fallen asleep because he dilutes the coffee with donut batter. Wiggum has no clues and persuades Marge to come back to the force so that they can catch the criminal. She goes along with it unless Wiggum is not so corrupt as he was last time. The first suspect is Snake when they are beyond his haunts, Snake escapes with Gloria on a hoverboard but Marge stops them by throwing a stone in front of their path. It turns out that they not steal the donuts. Their next suspect is Fat Tony but he only sells dog toys as cat toys. They arrest then Herman who selling stolen jeans this time instead of counterfeit jeans, and they have no clue after the missing donuts yet. The next day, they have only one group of criminals left, but they are only dealing with illegal nerd racing. Clancy acknowledges Marge there is one left and it's Homer, they discover that he visiting Springfield Nuclear Power Plant at the night and they follow him, he goes into the woods, and leaving a trail of monks behind. Clancy arrest Homer but he just dumping nuclear waste for Mr. Burns. Clancy wonder who drop the donuts and Burns are coming and telling them at he is stole the donuts, because they soaks up the waster making him saving millions. Burns will not let it pass at they knowing what he's done. It turns out that the donuts as he dipped in the nuclear waste has mutated and they start attacking the group. The pistols are not helping the police but Homer rescues them by eating the donuts. Homer ends up late at the hospital while Marge ends the force after she sees that Burns goes free after bribing Clancy. Clancy gets Burns to dump the nuclear waste on the victory garden of vegetables instead. A few days later has also the vegetables mutated and are planning to attack the people.
