• When Sideshow Bob goes to see Selma's dead corpse in the chair, he turns it around to see that Bart is there instead. He whacks the light, and as it swings back and forth, he sees Selma in the doorway. This sequence was a parody of the famous ending scene in Psycho.
• When being arrested by the Police, Sideshow Bob remarks that once the Democrats are back in power, he'll be back on the streets. In a sense of irony, an episode where he was released from jail actually had the Republicans being responsible for Sideshow Bob being released from Jail (although Mayor Quimby was also responsible for releasing him from jail after Bruce Barlowe forced him to).
